HK to open daily quota for entry without quarantine to Macau, mainland residents

(Hong Kong / Macau).- Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam has indicated that starting from September 15 a new entry scheme will grant a 2,000 quota for mainland and Macau residents to enter Hong Kong without the need for quarantine.
According to Hong Kong media, the Shenzhen Bay Port and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port will each have a daily quota of 1,000 people under a scheme entitled ‘Come2HK’.
People must provide a negative nucleic acid test certificate when entering Hong Kong, and they must also undergo regular virus testing after arriving in the city.
Currently, any resident entering Macau who in the previous 14 days was in Hong Kong is still required to complete a 14-day quarantine.
After several days without new Covi-19 cases, Hong Kong authorities have resumed the easing of entry restrictions, with the “Return2HK” scheme – which exempts returning Hongkongers who have passed a Covid-19 test at least 72 hours before arrival – to be reinstated on September 8.
Still, the daily quota for this return scheme was reduced from 5,000 to 2,000 people and Aaeas considered medium or high-risk for Covid-19 will also be excluded from the scheme.
